Dipsticle celebrated their second birthday this past Saturday. They reached out to me to photograph this event for their social media pages. I captured some images of the families enjoying their gelato and got some miscellaneous images of the decorations around the store. It was a very rainy day, but that didn’t stop customers from coming in for their gelato pops. You can view the full set from this event here. 

Dipsticle Artisan Gelato Cafe is a fairly new restaurant located in Cordova, Tennessee. It opened its doors in April of 2017. Their main menu consists of Italian gelato and sorbets on a stick. They also offer submenu items such as coffee, milkshakes, and the ‘wafflesticle.’ I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Katrina Younis, and taking some product images for the restaurant’s menu board. I have also sampled the raspberry milkshake, and the strawberry cheesecake gelato, dipped in white chocolate and graham cracker. It was delicious of course. Friday, January 11th, The CMPLX opened to a packed house. Located at 2234 Lamar Avenue, it is a new creative space for black artists in the Memphis/Orange Mound area. Throughout the night, guests were accompanied by live music, DJs, and various performances. From the eclectic jewelry, to the eccentric platforms, you’d also think this was a fashion show. Networking and introductions were also a heavy attachment to this event and I had the pleasure of meeting some very awesome individuals.
